At first, I was not a fan of putting kids on leashes. I think hand holding is efficient enough BUT… I don’t have kids so who am I to judge. I received the Let’s Go Kiddo kid’s harness to review and even though I don’t have kids, I was up for the challenge of “borrowing” a niece, nephew, or friend’s kid and testing this out. For every Lifestraw sold, a child in Africa receives clean water for an entire school year

We’ve been on a quest to find great, easy water filters! While browsing around at REI, Lifestraw caught my eye. Lifestraw is a personal water filter that allows you to drink directly from a water source or bottle. This was originally designed as an emergency relief tool to provide access to clean and safe water to people affected by natural disasters such as the Haitian Continue reading →

san onofre- view

I have a post relating our wonderful weekend spent at San Onofre with my girlfriends, but I failed to talk about the actual campsite. San Onofre State Beach is located in San Clemente in sunny Southern California north of San Diego. While the trip was fun, I am hesitant to go back for a few reasons. You MUST book reservations way a head of time (like months in advance) because it fills up quick. Now, this campground is located a hop, skip, and jump away from the beach so that explains why it books up fast but again, let me tell you why I wasn’t too much of a fan. Continue reading →

coleman sleeping pad

When I first started camping, it was pretty costly. We had to buy the tent, sleeping bag, stove, backpack, and the list goes on and on. Its safe to say we wanted to get products at a cheap price. We needed a sleeping pad and the cheapest one we found was a Coleman sleeping pad for $30 at Walmart. They claim its self-inflating and holds up al night but you have to blow it up yourself multiple times during the night. You don’t get a good night sleep while using this pad- and a good night’s sleep is super important to me! Continue reading →

campsite review heaton flats cover

Heaton Flats was the campsite that turned me into the camper I am. I went in November 2011. The weather was freezing! I knew nothing about camping! But I fell in love with the tall trees, the stream filled with gold prospectors, and the hike to get to the spot. Continue reading →

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 2,800 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 5 years to get that many views.
