Way back in the mountains you’ll find hiking, camping, bungee jumping, fishing, and even gold panning. We took a trip back into those mountains a few weeks ago and Continue reading →

take a load off- 5 items i ditched from my pack

With all the gear we take outdoors, there are a few items we could afford to lose. Here are 5 items I ditched and why I moved on…

  1. Lantern– I love my lantern! I’ve played hundreds of card games under it and carried it with me for miles on night hikes BUT I discovered something- the head lamp! I know, right?! It took that long for me to cave in but I love my head lamp! It is light weight and small, fitting perfectly into my front pocket of my backpack for easy, quick access. Continue reading →

how to purchase outdoor gear

Online shopping? In-store Experience? Craigslist? What’s the best?

  1. Sporting Goods Store– Sporting good stores are great because it gives you a chance you try out the gear, build a rapport, and feel comfortable- plus you get to talk to an expert in person! These stores are even better when they have reward programs or dividends like Continue reading →

It’s hard for me to kneel down and roll up a sleeping bag after a camping trip so I love my goose down bag. You can pack it up in under 30 seconds!

Gregory Saga 55

Here is the Gregory Saga 55 backpack. I love this backpack because of the large pockets, limited zippers for restricted space, and the adjustable straps to make this a custom-fit backpack!

Does anyone have a great backpack they love?!

Here is a great water filter from MSR! Its fits perfectly with REI’s Nalgene water bottle. Water filters have so many benefits like less weight you pack in, you never run out of water, and less plastic bottles!

coleman sleeping pad

When I first started camping, it was pretty costly. We had to buy the tent, sleeping bag, stove, backpack, and the list goes on and on. Its safe to say we wanted to get products at a cheap price. We needed a sleeping pad and the cheapest one we found was a Coleman sleeping pad for $30 at Walmart. They claim its self-inflating and holds up al night but you have to blow it up yourself multiple times during the night. You don’t get a good night sleep while using this pad- and a good night’s sleep is super important to me! Continue reading →

Hi everyone! I have done two separate videos of me setting up for REI Half Dome 2 tent and tearing it down. Just so you don’t have to search for it, here they are back to back 🙂 Feel free to post a comment! And be nice! The setting up was my first instructional video and I had a big scarf AND kept getting it wrong- still set it up in under 5 minutes!!! 🙂
