If you asked me what I thought about “glamping” yesterday I would have told you its for stuck-up, rich people who can’t handle being without their materialistic possessions for even a day. Harsh- I know! Until this morning (for real) I looked at my comments on my To Glamp or Not To Glamp poll and saw my Australian follower James’ comment:

“Any type of camping is camping. Whatever you enjoy…. go with it, as long as your out there… just do it !!!”

I am a girly-girl VERY much so and I plan on keeping it that way- I like myself! But when I’m camping, I still have freak out moments at little bugs and cold weather so from time to time I have to remind myself to get over it! It doesn’t help to sit there and complain about it- DO something about it! Here are some tips on “Preparing for the Unknown” and “I can’t believe that just happened” moments!

A new fire is underway in San Diego County- the Shockey fire. Yesterday around 12:15 PM, Shockey fire broke out on the Shockey Truck Trail and Highway 94 on the Campo Indian Reservation. 30 structures- mostly homes- have been destroyed and many others are threatened. 2,000 acres have been lost and the fire is 10% contained.
