Earlier this year we took a trip up to Lake Tahoe. We made a road trip out of it and travelled from San Diego all the way Tahoe, staying at Mammoth Mountain RV Park the first night and Harrah’s Hotel and Casino the last two nights. Twas’ the day before New Years and to Southern California’s surprise, snow appeared all over the land! It was beautiful and definitely the right way to start off the new year! My boyfriend and I headed out to east San Diego to Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. We grabbed out snowboards, firewood, some burgers, and our camping gear! This weekend we did an impromptu camping trip to Cuyamaca Rancho State Park at Paso Picacho. San Diego’s mountains were hit with a good amount of snow last week so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity! Unfortunately, we under-estimated how much snow might be there! It’s 5,000 feet elevation so you can only imagine! We got there around 8:30 PM and the grounds were covered- if we drove my little Huyndai, we wouldn’t have been able to get into the spots because snow was piled so high!
