While camping at Cuyamaca in the snow, I attempt to start a fire with a flint and knife. I think the cold weather was a huge factor!

This weekend we did an impromptu camping trip to Cuyamaca Rancho State Park at Paso Picacho. San Diego’s mountains were hit with a good amount of snow last week so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity! Unfortunately, we under-estimated how much snow might be there! It’s 5,000 feet elevation so you can only imagine! We got there around 8:30 PM and the grounds were covered- if we drove my little Huyndai, we wouldn’t have been able to get into the spots because snow was piled so high!
