While hiking Stonewall Peak at Cuyamaca Rancho State Park this weekend, we had a run in with about 13 deer! I was rounding a bend by myself when I saw about 13 of them about 30 feet away! It startled me at first but then I was blown away at how beautiful and big they are! The video is shakey at first but then gets better! I didn’t catch all of them on film.

It’s supposed to be warming up this weekend from the 30 degree weather but I love being prepared so here is what kind of clothes I bring with me while camping:
Billabong snowboarding jacket, O’Neill long sleeve ditsy print thermal, A&F scarf, Classic Tall UGGs, Patagonia R1 pullover, tall Roxy socks, and Element jeans. Some other clothes I am bringing are Quiksilver Girls hoody, Stance tall boot socks, and LA Gear Shape Up shoes for hiking. Leaving now and setting up camp in the dark! I will post pics on Sunday! I was watching The Ellen Show today and saw this story featured. I couldn’t resist to share!
“Lucky” the Dog
On August 11, 2012, hikers Scott and Amanda Washburn discovered an injured and abandoned dog on the steep 14,000 foot Mount Beirstadt in Colorado’s Rockies. The german shepard they named Lucky had bloody paws, was dehydrated, and unable to walk. The two couldn’t carry 112 lbs Lucky down the mountain so they wrapped up her paws to help her walk but she couldn’t. Determined to save Lucky, the Washburns went on a local hiker’s social media website 14ers.com and posted the dog’s picture along with a map to where she was found. A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I decided to be very adventurous and hike at night! We were very skeptical and the idea of it was a little crazy but we frequented this area many times and thought to live a little! We arrived in the Angeles National Forrest (we LOVE camping here) at 8:30 PM- just when the sun was setting. After piling on our 40 pound packs, we stated walking along the trail we walked down many times. We passed our usual spot about half a mile down and everything after that was new to us!
