Lake Cuyamaca Cover

A couple weeks ago, we went fishing at Lake Cuyamaca in east San Diego county in Julian. Lake Cuyamaca is surrounded by the 26,000 acre Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. Lake Cuyamaca is a 110 acre lake that offers fishing, boating, camping, duck hunting, bird watching, picnicking, and special event hosting. We eat a lot of dehydrated food while camping- especially when we hike in all our gear! Yes, it would be nice to have burgers and hotdogs but that would require towing a huge cooler about 5 miles. Last weekend, we hiked out about 5 1/2 miles in the Angeles National Forest along the East Fork river to what is called “The Narrows”. This spot is absolutely serene! With the large rock formations on both sides of you, calm river, and big horn sheep spotting’s, you’ll be sure to have a great and peaceful time!
