The fire in the Angles National Forest is still blazing. 15% is said to be contained and 4,000 acres have been burned. No structures are threatened or harmed. No one has been seriously injured. Since Sunday afternoon, a brush fire has continued to burn areas in the Angeles National Forest forcing officials to shut down San Gabriel Canyon- a popular spot (our favorite spot) for campers and hikers- especially holidays like today! About 50 residents and 1,200 campers were evacuated from 3 different campgrounds. The fire, known as Williams Fire, is about 5% contained and burned about 3,600 acres so far. The Angeles National Forest sits right behind Azusa in Southern California. I will keep you posted and please pray everyone is ok! This area is very dear to my heart as I have family that lives close as well.
