hiking the narrows cover

A few weeks ago, we trekked 5 miles into The Narrows, a well-known gold panning spot in the Angeles National Forest back in the San Gabriel mountains. The hike out wasn’t bad. We left at 7:00 AM so the air was still cool, shade in our favor. We arrived around 9:00 AM a little winded but happy to be at our temporary home for the weekend. Coming back was a different story! Alaska 2
My world-traveling cousin, Emily, just got back from Alaska. Here are her words to describe her recent trip:

“My first backpacking trip took me through the Himalayas in Nepal. Honestly, after such a wildly foreign and extreme inaugural experience, I figured no other backpacking trip could compare. And then I arrived in Alaska. I can unreservedly say that Alaska is the most breathtakingly scenic place to which I’ve been. Over the course of a 20-hour car ride Continue reading →

BUT, tomorrow I will be on a plane, sipping a cocktail, on my way to Kaua’i! Truly blessed to be able to get this experience! Lots of posts to follow… Have a great week everyone!! See you in a bit!

Cowles Mountain picture

Saturday afternoon, my boyfriend and I took on the challenge of Cowles Mountain- a mountain located in heart of east county San Diego in between Santee and La Mesa. There are several different trails to take and we took the hardest (yes, I’m bragging 🙂 ). The back side of Cowles boasts an 1,100 Continue reading →

Iron Mountain Pic

We hiked Iron Mountain out in Poway in San Diego. The trail itself said 3.5 miles but I’ve read it can be upwards to 6 miles depending on which trail you take up the mountain. It tends to get crowded on the weekends because its so popular. We went on Memorial Day weekend and it wasn’t too bad. The views were absolutely stunning! Continue reading →
