We are having an “indoor camping” trip this weekend, a.k.a. a slumber party! Just us girls! We couldn’t wait for our annual Diva camping trip, so we are having a miniature one tonight! 🙂 My wardrobe is similar to yours, but add in a bathing suit!

I wish I could get girls together to go camping. My ladies prefer the indoors.

I’m lucky – I’m the worst camper of the bunch, and I love it and always have someone willing to go with me! The slumber party was great – but mainly because it fit our wallets – it was just cheaper than going camping for real! Maybe make sure and get a site with electric and water – it makes a world of different when we all have extension cords running to our tents for fans, or to the patio for the automatic coffee maker in the mornings! 🙂 I’ve been enjoying your blog, thanks for sharing!

Looking good in camp is VERY important! Nothing feels better than knowing you’re comfy, cute, and well dressed – and when that’s combined with being in the woods . . . well . . . life doesn’t get much better, does it?!?! I always think the girls who don’t like camping (“eeeww! all that dirt!”) just don’t know how to go about it right. Please keep writing – love your blog!

Love the clothes. Especially that jacket. I need one like that. I LOVE seeing what other chick campers wear. I, too, have a similar wardrobe for camping plus a bathing suit and my giant pink keep-me-young-forever-by-shading-my-face hat.

First off — thanks for the ‘like’ on my recent post The High Trestle Trail. A quick perusal of your blog and I knew I had to follow!
My son and I camped ALOT when he was little — mostly just the two of us but frequently with a couple of guy friends I had (nothing romantic) and occasionally our circle spread ever wider. I used to work at Winnebago Industries in the engineering department and we had a fleet of RV’s at our disposal for weekend use. I’m quite proud to announce though that we never once slept in the units — they were solely used for transporting the group of whoever was up for camping that weekend — and that we always slept in tents if not curled up on a chaise lounge in front of the fire under a starry sky. Even when we camped at the end of November and the middle of March. Did I mention that we lived in north central Iowa where our winters can be very cold and frigid?
Anyway once in awhile it would just be us girls doing it solo and I have some really great memories of all those wonderful camping expeditions. The crazy things we’d do — traipsing around in the woods at 3:00 in the morning, climbing trees, exploring caves and great moments around a roaring fire!
Anyway the main reason I wanted to write was this column — Fashion in the Wild — struck a nerve. Yes! Just because you are roughing it is no excuse to not look great while doing so. 🙂
I wrote a post on my blog that makes a brief reference to ‘appearances’ and perhaps you’ll enjoy it. Here’s the link: http://asawyersdaughter.com/2014/06/29/wanderlust-a-users-guide-to-a-fun-safe-road-trip-experience/
In any case I’m very much looking forward to further exploration of what looks to be a fun and informative blog — especially as hubby and I are making preparations for our first trip to Colorado next month!
Here’s to the great outdoors!
