New Year. New You.

Well hello there! Happy New Year to you! I wanted to think long and hard about my intentions I set for myself in 2017 so let me start off by saying this… I have a job. I can provide for myself. I have food in my cupboards. I am healthy. I have a roof over my head. I have someone to snuggle up with at night. What more can I ask for to make my life complete? What can I possibly improve in 2017? Well this year I am focusing me- being the best version of me possible. To make decisions that better my life and others around me in a positive way. Rather than making my yearly commitment to drop 20 lbs, not eat sweets past 8pm, pay off my credit cards and not bite my nails, I am going to make resolutions that I am truly excited to make and stick to.

Be Present-In a world where everyone’s eyes are glued to their phone, challenge yourself to turn off the electronics and open your eyes to the world where life is happening right in front of you.
Don’t overly commit– I am a people-pleaser. I love to help people out and either solve a problem or offer to assist in any way possible. But sometimes that really backfires when you’re overrun with everyone else responsibilities and not enjoying your extracurriculars.
Recycle– Mother Nature needs us more than ever right now. We need to treat our Earth with love and respect it deserves. Please do us all a favor and recycle (you can even pick up a few extra bucks on the way).
Speak less. Listen More- People don’t want to be talked at, they want to be understood. The first step to understanding someone is truly listen to them so zip up that lip and open those ears.

Here’s to 2017! Now what are some of your intentions or resolutions?
