I’m warming to the wild life around us! Just last week I caught my first snake on a hike at Cowles Mountain in San Diego! Here are some “little critters” we spotted recently 🙂
My Mom lives right on the edge of Cowels Mountain and when we were young we hiked there often with our GS troop. How fun to see all the wildlife there! I have to take a hike next time I visit!

Here is another good Blog by Mandie, a serious Back-Pack camper. The pics of some of the local wildlife outside San Diego are worth sharing.

We’ve got ALL the nasty critters down here in South Texas. Once a scorpion fell out of the A/C vent onto Deerslayer as he lounged in the powder room of our home! Gotta say, though, that I was tickled to see horny toads in these parts again, recently. They’d pretty much disappeared for a number of years. Love ’em.
How big was the scorp? My chooks love scoffing the ones we have here 🙂

It’s was really small- like an inch and a half long.

Still a nasty critter, or tasty snack.

I’m not picking up any snakes – no matter how small or harmless they appear. Ever!
