Paso Picacho
You’ve heard me talk about it several times- Paso Picacho campground at Cuyamaca Rancho State Park in east San Diego. If you’re looking for a great campground that has bathrooms, great hikes, large camp sites, picnic area, and takes reservations, Paso Picacho is perfect for you! Here are the features of one of my favorite campgrounds:
- Clean Restroom and shower area
- Open availability throughout the year with over 80 campsites
- Spacious campsites with 2 parking spots, fire pit, and picnic table
- Camp host
- Easy access to hikes like Stonewall Peak and Cuyamaca Peak
- Family friendly
- Deer easily spotted year-round 🙂
- Seasonal weather
Cuyamaca Rancho State Park also offers Green Valley (which I have not been to) 5 miles down the road. It includes the same campsite amenities. Either way, you’ll be sure to have a great time!
- Stonewall Peak
I didn’t get past that epic beard!! Wow, that thing is full! LOL!

I love finding a camp ground that is awesome! We’ve got one here that we love to visit, convenient for us all to meet up and it has great sites with all types of facilities – and most of the sites are within walking distance of the water 🙂 We love it and visit is several times a year!

Beautiful. It’s nice to get reviews of great campgrounds by other veteran campers.
