You Know You’re Outdoorsy When
1. You have to go to the bathroom in a public and think, can I just find a tree?
2. The thought of sleeping on the floor actually sounds comfortable
3. If an Apocalypse happens, you’re fully prepared
4. You can pack your backpack in less than 5 minutes
5. You start to hope for weather mishaps because “It would be fun”
6. You take necessities out of your backpack before a trip to test yourself
7. If someone asks you what 3 things you would bring with you on a deserted island, you list all survival tools- no need for an iPad, supermodel, or California burritos!
8. You’re friends don’t have to ask you what you’re doing this weekend because they know you’re camping, hiking, or doing something outdoorsy.
9. The power goes out at your house and its no big deal
10. Camping at a campsite with restrooms is a treat
11. You hesitate about going to a nice dinner for a night out but don’t think twice about dropping $300 on a new tent or sleeping bag
12. If someone asks you for directions and you say its within walking distance- but its miles away
13. You’d much rather take the stairs and park in the farthest spot because walking is fun!
Can anyone list any more You Know You’re Outdoorsy When… ?

14. You’ve got tan lines from your hat, in addition to the ones from your shirt, shorts, and socks.

I love the comment about can I just find a tree! It is a toilet with a view for sure, and WAY better than a smelly port-a-potty! lol 😉

Looks like I’m on a reblog roll this week…
I get a kick out of Mandie’s GirlyCamping blog. Despite it being primarily intended for the girls, she comes up with some pretty good stuff that most anyone can relate to. With a couple of exceptions, most notably #2 (no more sleeping on the floor or ground for me unless its absolutely necessary), I can relate to most of these. Check it out…

#1. On our recent “camp” outing, we went with a group. They set up a “bathroom” with tarps and a tripod toilet seat. My son and I used a tree. Much easier. Fun list!

… 30 minutes in a gym riding a stationary bike is too much exercise for you but continuously hiking up a strenuous trail for an entire day isn’t–in fact you stay the night.

This is great! I never really considered myself as “outdoorsy” before I became the Deerslayer’s Wife. Since then, I accumulated any number of awesome camping things. I realized we were truly a camping clan when my girls became “rock peepers”. They would, without hesitation, “peep” out in the wilderness during the hunt.

Definitely all of them. Great list. Especially 8, 12, and 13. A new one I could add for me is when the Rangers in a natural area 2 and 1/2 hours away from your home know you and your truck by sight and always stop by your camp site for conversation.

I especially relate to 12 and 13. I do that all the time.
2 is pretty good to. I had to sleep on the floor recently as I had guests over and gave them my bed. I was rather excited at the idea of ‘camping indoors’ and loved it 🙂

#10 hahahha I call it deluxe camping if there is a toilet. I’d add getting annoyed if someone sets up camp within 5 miles of your well hidden out of the way camp site.

Awesome list! My #9 story: Minnesota winter, low around -30, and the power goes out. We break out the headlamps and candles, but the husband and I decide to make it more fun. We unearth our expedition weight sleeping bags and “camp” on our porch. Plus whiskey for a little internal layering 🙂
