We have camped with people that refused to set up their tent unless they could have an electrical site so they could have their ceramic heater and radio in their tent….ugh!

We will bring a radio along for some background music while sitting around the fire, but other than that all the electronics stay home.

We were camping in a tent in Nova Scotia overlooking the Bay of Fundy…it was a new moon and we could see the Aurora clearly. We let the fire die down and were mesmerized for hours by nature’s light show. My wife had to use the bathroom so we walked towards the center of the campground where lights lit up the night and people were huddled in rv’s watching TV and missing the greatest light show on earth. Like you say, epic fail.

Well here in the UK we see a LOT of this is in everything from tents to huge motorhomes! Sad really that you go somewhere to be surrounded by beauty and just bring the rubbish from home with you. I think the key is in the phrase ‘get away from it all’.
We take the iPad with us when we’re in the camper just in case the weather decides to drench us for days, like it did last time, with a select number of movies on it.
It works well and it also means I can back up the photos we take leaving more room on the camera 🙂 might write a blog about it!!!

Its that common? I have never seen someone watching TV while camping- unless its in their RV. You should write a blog about it 🙂
